Thorn Hill Alpacas is a small family-owned and operated farm located in Schodack, New York, about 12 miles east of Albany. The name of our farm is derived from our surname (Stackel = Thorn; berg = Hill) and our logo is borrowed from the Stackelberg family coat of arms.

Thorn Hill alpacas is dedicated to breeding huacaya alpacas for high-quality fleece and conformation characteristics. From the beginning we have focused on world-renowned alpaca bloodlines for our foundation females and the sires they are bred to. Bloodlines represented in our small herd include: Augusto, Caligula, Elever, El Senor, Guellermo, Legacy, Pluro, Sinopsis Nocturna, Vengador, Vyrtual Reality, and Yupanqui. Our goal is to improve the fleece and conformation characteristics of each successive generation while maintaining a high quality but small sized herd. We are also dedicated to providing our customers with the level of support they require to begin or continue their own alpaca enterprise.

We invite you to view our website and contact us to schedule a farm visit. We would love to talk to you about our alpacas, the enjoyment we've experienced raising them, and how alpacas could be a part of your life too!

We look forward to hearing from you!
